8 Port Gigabit Switch with 4 x PoE+ ports
The TP-Link TL-SG2008P is a managed Gigabit PoE + switch with 8 Gigabit LAN ports. Four of these ports are with PoE + support. These four PoE + ports deliver a total power budget of 62 Watts for expanding the company network with additional network devices (such as IP cameras, access points and IP phones) and provide them with direct power. Thanks to the fanless design, this switch makes no noise and can be placed in quiet rooms.
Omada SDN Cloud portal management
The Omada SDN Cloud portal makes it easy to manage the TP-Link SG2008P remotely. All TP-Link equipment with Omada SDN support can be managed by Omada SDN. Omada SDN provides a clear dashboard for insight into the status of the network, change settings and diagnose problems. Management can be performed from different locations via the cloud, this saves a lot of time and costs. If you also use other TP-Link equipment with Omada SDN support, you can manage your entire network via this platform. You only need a local hardware controller (TP-Link Omada SDN OC200 or OC300) or software controller for this.
Omada SDN is available through your web browser or through the Omada app for iOS and Android.
L2 functionalities
This TP-Link switch supports numerous L2 functionalities, including 802.1Q tag VLAN, Port Isolation, Port Mirroring and 802.3 Flow Control. There are also functions to maintain the network, such as Loop Back Detection and IGMP Snooping. IGMP snooping ensures that a multicast stream is only forwarded to the correct devices. IGMP throttling and filtering prevents the stream from going to unauthorized devices, which you can easily set per port.
Extensive network security
With the TP-Link TL-SG2008P your network is highly secured. For example, the switch applies functions such as IP-MAC Port Binding, Port Security and DHCP Snooping. The Access Control Lists (ACL, L2 to L4) function protects your network data by blocking packets based on MAC address, IP address, TCP / UDP ports and VLAN ID. In addition, the switch supports 802.1X, which identifies network users through remote Radius servers. With the guest VLAN feature, non-802.1X users cannot enter the general network and only gain access to the guest network.
Quality of Service
This switch has Quality of Service support. This means that you can prioritize certain data streams yourself using Port Priority, 802.1P Priority and DSCP Priority. For example, you can indicate that voice and video applications take precedence over standard internet traffic. This prevents delays during telephone calls or playback.
Extensive management functions
As mentioned above, it is possible to manage the TP-Link TL-SG2008P via the Omada SDN cloud environment. If you do not use this, you can manage the switch via an intuitive web-based Graphical User Interface (GUI), the Command Line Interface (CLI), SNMP (v1 / 2/3) or RMON. Conveniently, it is also possible to request valuable status information from the switch, as well as error reports for abnormal events. Any problems can be identified and resolved more quickly.
